Power Swim Results for 2006Girl Power!A record 142 swimmers participated in the 3rd Annual Friends Beach-to-Beach Power Swim, helping to raise money to fund projects and programs that preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of Virgin Islands National Park. 15 year-old Annie Myrvang from St. Croix was the overall winner with a time of one hour eighteen minutes and 7 seconds (1:18:07). Jack Leavitt, also from St. Croix, followed in second place with a time of one hour twenty minutes forty-seven seconds (1:20:47); and 3rd place was Timothy Fitzpatrick from Vienna, VA with a time of one hour twenty-one minutes forty-nine seconds (1:21:49). Other course results Short Course-overall winners: Intermediate Course-overall winners: "Both weather and water conditions were perfect for our event today", said Karen Brady, Friends' development director, "and we are ecstatic with the turnout for the race today." The course highlights two of Virgin Islands National Park's most special features, the waters and beaches located on the north shore of St. John. This event is possible only with the support of all of our sponsors, and we thank them all for their contributions.
