On Sunday May 24, 2009, Friends will host its sixth annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim. The race again consists of three courses: a short course from Maho to Cinnamon, about 1 mile; an intermediate course from Maho to Trunk Bay, about 2-1/4 miles; and, a long course from Maho to Hawksnest, about 3-1/2 miles. Swimmers compete as an individual or as part of a 3-person team. Some swimmers also compete in the "assisted" category using snorkel and/or fins.
