2011 Gala

Friends of VI National Park thanks all those who helped us celebrate our 7th Annual Gala! This year's event raised more than $26,000 to support the efforts of Friends on behalf of Virgin Islands National Park! About 180 people gathered on Saturday, February 5th at Butterfly Beach, Dave & Cheryl McDaniel’s new home in Fish Bay, St. John. The event kicked off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and despite a few early showers, the party got rolling! Fortunately, the weather cleared up and the stars came out just in time for dinner on the terrace and dancing by the ocean. Always a highlight of the event, this years’ raffle and silent auction were no exception. Lucky winners took home artwork, jewelry, dining packages and lots of other great prizes, and everyone took away a printed commemorative tote by Sugar Apple Design and Mathayom’s special Java Booty Rub.

Friends would like to say thank you to all those who made it a night to remember! Sponsors and partners Mathayom Private Chefs, A.H. With more than 30 businesses and individuals who donated items to the raffle, and the more than 40 volunteers who ensured that the event ran smoothly, it was truly a community effort!
