Heritage Center
The latest and one of
the most exciting undertakings of the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park is the Environmental
Heritage Center Campaign. St.
John, to date, has no place which is sufficiently set up,
equipped, or safe to display the thousands of artifacts
which have been recovered from the dig at Cinnamon Bay
and several other important projects which have taken
place on the island in years past. The bountiful history,
which this small island possesses, must be recognized and
publicized to be fully appreciated. It is the unique
history of this island which is so much a part of who
it's people are and how the island came to be what it is
today. The goal of the Environmental Heritage Center is
to afford the populations of St. John and all the
Northern Virgin Islands a place to display and learn of
the islands history as well as an opportunity to
understand these islanders' heritage.
Donations to the Environmental Heritage Center
Campaign can be made directly to the Friends of Virgin Islands
National Park.
